Muscat Hills hosts inaugural Millennium Resort Mussanah Golf Day

Forty five golfers took to the 18 hole championship golf course at Muscat Hills Golf and Country Club for the first Millennium Resort Mussanah Golf Day. Participating in the Stableford scoring format, competitors completed the course for the chance to win complimentary stays at Millennium Resort Mussanah and enjoy an extensive range of services the four-star resort has to offer including, three restaurants, five swimming pools and an 18-hole mini golf course which is the first of its kind in Oman.

Maurice De Rooij, General Manager of the Millennium Resort Mussanah, said, "This was a fantastic event with a high level of skill on show. The course is truly superb and has been well-crafted for all levels of players. It offers a new challenge at each hole and spectacular views of the wadi escarpment. My congratulations go to the winners on behalf of the entire hotel and we look forward to welcoming them to Millennium Resort Mussanah for a unique and memorable stay with us."

Ray Stopforth, Director of Golf at Muscat Hills Golf & Country Club, said, "The Millennium Resort Mussanah Golf Day showcased the high quality of golfers we have at the Club in both men's, where the top three were separated by just three points, and ladies' categories where the title was fiercely contested until the final hole. The course offers a range of obstacles and provides each player the chance to test themselves against the landscape at every hole. We are delighted to have such keen players in our midst and must thank the Millennium Resort Mussanah for their support of a very successful golf day."

Emerging triumphant, despite the rising temperatures, was Steve Pickering with a score of 43 points. Steve was closely followed by Vivendra Agarwal and Ray Baird who both finished with 40 points. The ladies winner, also winning a trip to the resort, was Susanne Solberg with 37 points. Special prizes were given for the 'Nearest to the Pin' competition held on the 14th hole, also won by Steve Pickering, and the longest drive on the 4th hole was won by Ben McCarron.

The winners will be able to immerse themselves in the tranquillity of Al Batinah South Governorate, located on the shores of the Gulf of Oman, where Millennium Resort Mussanah blends vivid Arabian and Asian themes to provide a unique location for a relaxing getaway. With a multitude of local and international culinary experiences and scenic panoramic views of the coastal area, the resort also features a ladies-only pool, Fitness Centre and children's play areas to cater for the needs of all the family.
